When you visit NearYou, our hosting provider (Cloudflare) may automatically log:

• IP address (anonymised)
• Browser type and version
• Pages visited and time of visit
• Referring URL

This data is collected for security and performance purposes and is not used to identify individuals.

2.2 Business listings (submitting a listing)

When you submit a business listing, we collect:

• Business name, category, address, city, postcode
• Phone number and website URL
• Business description and opening hours
• Your contact email address (used internally only - never displayed publicly)
• Optional: booking URL, photo URL

2.3 Careers applications

When you submit an application via our careers page, we collect your name, email address, professional background, and any links you provide (portfolio, LinkedIn, CV).

2.4 Waitlist / early access sign-ups

If you join our early access list, we store your email address solely to notify you about product updates.

3. Purpose & Legal Basis (GDPR Art. 6)

• Directory listings: Processing is necessary for the performance of a service you requested (Art. 6(1)(b)).
• Server logs: Legitimate interest in ensuring website security and performance (Art. 6(1)(f)).
• Email communications: Based on your consent or to fulfil a request you initiated (Art. 6(1)(a) and (b)).
• Careers data: Processing is based on your consent to be considered for a role (Art. 6(1)(a)).

4. Data Retention

• Business listing data is retained as long as the listing is active. You may request removal at any time by emailing us.
• Server logs are retained for up to 30 days.
• Careers applications are retained for 6 months and then deleted unless you consent to longer retention.
• Waitlist emails are retained until you unsubscribe.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to third parties. We may share data only with:

• Cloudflare Inc. - our hosting and CDN provider (USA; covered by Standard Contractual Clauses)
• Google LLC - our spreadsheet database and script hosting provider (USA; covered by Standard Contractual Clauses). Business listing data is stored in Google Sheets.
• Authorities - where required by law or to protect our legal rights

6. Your Rights Under the GDPR

As a data subject, you have the following rights:

• Right of access (Art. 15) - You can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Right to rectification (Art. 16) - You can ask us to correct inaccurate data.
• Right to erasure (Art. 17) - You can request deletion of your personal data ("right to be forgotten").
